I hope you've had a chance to try out iConn. You can get to it through
the Norfolk Library website: www.norfolklibrary.org (see the word iConn
in the top menu and click on it) or through www.iconn.org. You'll need
your library card barcode and if you file your card at the library, just
give us a call and we'll give you your barcode number. This is a tremendous
resource for your entire family and is made available to every library
patron in Connecticut. It is saving libraries thousands of dollars and
without iConn, this small library would not be able to provide such an
all-encompassing service. (The next time you see your state rep. please
thank him/her for us).
Through iConn you have access to a rich array of electronic information
databases as well as the reQuest statewide library catalog. There are
full-text magazine and newspaper articles, maps, almanacs, dictionaries,
encyclopedias, biographies, etc. Want to know what to read next?: There's
a readers advisory service featuring more than 80,000 highly recommended
adult, young adult and children's fiction titles - mysteries, romance,
science fiction, fantasy, horror, Western and historical novels, general
fiction, classic fiction, and non-fiction. Reading levels range from elementary
school to the professional. The data bases are easy to use, but if you
need any help, just ask us.
